New Delhi: She is a 72-year-old artist who paints while watching her soap operas. Kiran Saxena, a grandmother in Delhi, makes a religious statement with every artwork of hers.

At an age when one's eyesight isn't always at its best, Saxena continues to wield the paint-brush with gusto.

For the last 15 years, Saxena has been making paintings so intricately crafted, that one needs a magnifying glass to read the text she paints.

"My children were busy, I wanted something to keep myself busy. I started making cards, people really liked them. So I started making paintings,” she says.

Saxena takes nearly 15 days to make each painting, and then gives it away to anyone who asks for it.

She also tries ensure she doesn't miss out on her favourite soaps while at work.

So who says that life ends at 70? For Saxena, life has just begun and the art has given her a reason to live and kept her young at heart.
