Mumbai: Art and charity is a combination that few can say no to. So what about celebrities and artistes? Well, they did join hands at Khushii India on canvas 2007, organised by the Khushii foundation for charity, to raise funds.
Though many well-known faces from different walks of life like artiste Anjolie Ela Menon, former cricketer Kapil Dev were there to show their support, it was Junior B Abhishek Bachchan who everyone was waiting for.
But the first one to arrive from the Bachchan family was Abhishek's mother Jaya.
And then when Abhishek did arrive a good two hours late, nobody seemed to be complaining. It was quite the family affair for the Bachchan's as it was on cousin Namrata's canvas that Abhishek chose to have his brush with art.
“I think it’s a wonderful cause. Its an artistic medium and its special for me because my cousin has painted this piece of art,” said Abhishek Bachchan.
But has Abhishek always wanted to take up painting?
“I’m only interested in acting. You can’t expect me to paint,” he added.
Though the painting is inspired by the Abhi-Ash union, Aishwarya was not there hand-in-hand with her hubby.
However, six street children who will benefit from the proceeds of the sale of Abhishek's painting were present at the event.
