Awaarapan's our best, say the Bhatts

Mumbai: Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is gung ho about the first week box-office collections that his film Awaarapan has received.

"Box Office data has come in and it shows the film has picked up. It earned lakhs in Punjab and got a crore in Mumbai,” he said.

Despite the fact that the film didn’t get the initial it expected, the Bhatts are backing this one which has beaten the others to get a commercial release in Pakistan this week.

"Man walked the moon and the Bhatts have had the first successful commercial release in Pakistan and India simultaneously,” said producer Mukesh Bhatt.

And with most critics giving a thumbs up to the film, it is actor Emraan Hashmi who's happy that he has finally moved away from the image of a serial kisser.

"I was getting typecast and it was right sort of break,” said Hashmi.

The producers are looking forward to the second and the third week box office collections to add some more cheer for Awarapan, which is the costliest film from the Vishesh Films banner.
