Ayesha Takia talks Bollywood, friendship and De Taali

Mumbai: Ayesha Takia’s latest film De Taali is all about the spirit of friendship and the actress can’t stop talking about it.

CNN-IBN: The movie’s name is De Taali but how many times did you actually slap each other's back or give each other a high-five? Did that happen a lot on the sets?

Ayesha Takia: Yes, that happened a lot. You can see us giving each other high-fives even in the film’s promo. It's such a funny, silly thing to do but friends often find themselves giving each other high-fives.

CNN-IBN: Plenty of movies in Bollywood have been dedicated to the spirit of friendship. Which is one such film that you can think of right off the top of your head?

Ayesha Takia: Dil Chahta Hai immediately comes to mind. I think the film perfectly depicts a modern friendship in a non-fictional, melodramatic manner.

CNN-IBN: How many friends do you have in the film industry? You know, when you’re down in the dumps, whom do you call up first?

Ayesha Takia:I don’t really know if anyone will be there for anyone in time of need but luckily I have a lot of friends I can count on. Ahmed Khan and his wife, for example, are sweethearts. I respect them for their honesty and values. Then there’s Rohit Shetty and his whole unit. When you meet them, you get along so well but if I’m down in the dumps, I don’t think I’d call anyone apart from my family.
