Rampur Cong candidate benefits from SP spat

New Delhi: The battle for Rampur is turning ugly with actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada alleging that rebel leader Azam Khan is doing everything, including circulating her nude pictures, to ensure her defeat in the elections.

Ironically, all the fracas in the Samajwadi Party (SP) camp is only helping the Congress candidate Noor Bano.

Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh offered a mock apology to Azam Khan and requested that people not pay heed to Khan.

Azam Khan, meanwhile alleges that Amar Singh is a shrewd politician who even brought mafia goons from Mumbai, to block the lectoral process.

The two SP leaders fight is over Rampur's star candidate Jaya Prada who alleges that Azam Khan has distributed doctored and morphed pictures of her that appear as though she has posed in the nude.

Caught in this cross-fire is the party president Mulayam SIngh Yadav but in the last leg of the campaign he has made his preference clear.

“Azam Khan should not speak against Kalyan Singh and Amar Singh. It’s inappropriate to make such remarks in public,” said Mulayam.

Ironically, in the last elections it was Azam Khan who brought Jaya Prada to his home turf to take on the Begum of Rampur.
