New York: Top-seeded Victoria Azarenka advanced to the third round of the US Open with a straight-set win over qualifier Kirsten Flipkens.
Azarenka won 6-2, 6-2 in 65 minutes Wednesday. The Australian Open champ from Belarus has never been past the fourth round at Flushing Meadows.
Flipkens, a 133rd-ranked Belgian, beat 60th-ranked Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic in the first round.
Azarenka has lost just five games through her first two matches at this year's Open.
