Baabul turns family affair for Big B

Mumbai: Ravi Chopra's latest potboiler Baabul is all set to hit the theatres. After Baghban the director returns to celluloid drama, this time with the theme of widow re-marriage.

Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee—the huge star caste of Baabul is the key attraction besides foot-thumping numbers and a track sung by Big B already on the rise on popularity charts.

"I share a nice association with Adesh Srivastava who has given the music for the film. I loved the song Adesh composed for me," Bachchan said.

Shooting for the film has been a fun filled family affair, said Bachchan while trying to pick up steps from choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant. Add to that, Hema Malini as his co-star, the film promises to recreate Baghban magic.

"I feel honoured working with such lovely people. Hope this turns out to be a nice film," said Hema Malini.

A biking accident on the sets of Baabul involving Rani Mukherjee made news a few weeks ago. But like every other film he has worked on, even the bike mishap was one big joke for Salman.

"I haven’t seen such an accident in my life. Rani was up on one wheel of the bike, a good 20 feet above the ground and she returned unhurt," said Salman.

As for Rani, brushing aside the accident has been an easy task. The light-eyed-queen plays a young widow in the film and says the sensitive subject is something she holds close to her heart.

"This film has the capacity to turn the mindsets and thinking of people towards young widows," said Rani.

With several songs, high voltage emotions and a social message, Baabul is going to be the classic family entertainer this weekend. And with a star-cast like this one, the film's potential is more than evident in every actor's face.
