Click to play videoMumbai: Sporting a black full length dress Aishwarya braved the winter chill and walked the Pink carpet with hubby Abhishek Bachchan in tow for the New York premiere of Pink Panther 2.
In the film Aishwarya plays the role of a high-profile investigator who is sent to Paris to assist Inspector Clouseau.
“You know what kind of fun movie it is meant to be and that is the ride the whole team is on. Everyone steps up to make a moment work,” says Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Also seen at the premiere promoting his movie Slumdog Millionaire was actor Anil Kapoor and when asked about all the controversy surrounding the Oscar nominated film Aishwarya had this to say.
“It is just a film. I mean I don’t see why everything gets dissected and made into this whole debate. We are really happy that Rahman, a talent we all have been proud of has been given the award,” says Aishwarya Rai.
In Pink Panther 2 Steve Martin reprises his role as Inspector Jacques Clouseau and this time around the famed Pink Panther diamond is stolen once again and Clouseau is entrusted the mission of finding the missing stone.
Allegedly his second stint with the series was less daunting than the first one.
“Well it was at first, but now we're in our second one so it's less daunting,” says Steve Martin.
Clouseau is joined by his faithful secretary Nicole, played by Emily Mortimer and his friend and partner Ponton, played by Jean Reno.The film hits theaters in the US on February 6.
