Click to play videoMumbai: An air-hostess, along with four other people, has been arrested for alleged human-trafficking.
The gang had been using the air-hostess to smuggle people, who posed as her relatives, into the US.
The police has said she was arrested while smuggling in one person who was caught travelling on a fake passport to the US.
“They got a bogus marriage certificate made showing her marriage to Rajesh Kumar. They have already sent three people in this manner, this year alone,” said Joint Commissioner (Crime), Rakesh Marya.
The gang had been operating since the past two years.
Police have seized many fake passports, stamp papers and other documents.
“The racket used to collect Rs 20 lakhs for taking one illegal immigrant and this woman was getting 1,80,000 out of that as commission for doing this,” stated Mumbai Commissioner of Police D N Jadhav.
