Mumbai: Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray on Sunday doesn't rule out accepting estranged nephew Raj Thackeray back in the party but says Raj will need to take the first step.

Speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN, Thackeray also touched upon many issues.

Thackeray also admitted that Raj's exit has resulted in a split in the Marathi vote bank. He also added that a split in the Marathi vote bank is bound to take place in the corporation elections.

Speaking about Raj's praising of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on the development in Gujarat, the Shiv Sena supremo said, "If somebody loves something how can I stop him but what I didn't like was that he criticised Maharashtra. That was unfair. There is a single umbrella government in Gujarat. In Maharashtra we had two parties, the Shiv Sena and the BJP."

"If they said something, sometimes we did not agree and if we said they would not say yes, so this happens when there are two parties. In India, it is not possible to have a single umbrella government," Thackeray added.
