Mumbai: Shiv Sena Working President Uddhav Thackeray met the party's MPs and MLAs at noon on Friday amidst reports of party supremo Bal Thackeray's deteriorating health. Udhhav's office said it was a scheduled meeting of legislators before the winter session of both Lok Sabha and state assembly.

After the meeting, Uddhav Thackeray said, "We are trying to streamline what issues we will take up in the winter session. Today's meeting had nothing to do with Balasaheb's health. We are all concerned about his health. He is okay."

Maharashtra minister and senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal on Thursday went to see ailing Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray to enquire about his health. Bhujbal called a few hours after MNS president and Thackeray's estranged nephew Raj Thackeray and his wife Sharmila visited the Sena patriarch's residence 'Matoshree' in suburban Bandra, Sena sources said.

"Learning about Balasaheb's ill-health, Bhujbal rushed to meet him," a source close to the Thackeray family said. However, he could not speak to the Sena chief as the latter was asleep. "Bhujbal met Uddhav Thackeray. They had a discussion for over 30 minutes," the source said. Bhujbal, once a senior Sena leader, left in the 1990s to join Congress, and later joined NCP.

Earlier in October, Raj Thackeray met Bal Thackeray when he was admitted to the hospital. Thackeray was also admitted to Lilavati on July 24, 2012, after he complained of breathlessness and acute constipation.

Senior politicians, including NCP chief Sharad Pawar, BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari and Gopinath Munde, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, Sena leaders Manohar Joshi and Subhash Desai and RPI leader Ramdas Athavale were among those who visited him at the hospital in July.
