Bangalore: An unidentified man aged around 40 years, who was sleeping inside a truck, was burnt alive. Police said the truck was parked next to a garbage dump, which caught fire. The fire spread to the truck. The incident was reported near Indiranagar BDA complex on Tuesday.

Police said the deceased, suspected to be a beggar, was sleeping in the old truck which was not being used. Someone lit fire to the garbage dump, which spread to the truck and he was burnt alive, the police said. The fire, however, was doused completely later.

“It seems like the deceased was sleeping inside the truck in an inebriated state. Thus, he could not come out of the vehicle. We are also investigating the exact reason for the fire,” police added. The Indiranagar police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection.
