Bangalore: Chennai student dies in accident

BANGALORE: An engineering student was killed and his three friends sustained minor injuries after their car rammed into a tree on Sarjapur Road in the wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Vighnesh S P, a native of Chennai, and his friends Avinash, Arul Modi and B Vighnesh, are being treated at a hospital in the city. Avinash, was a student of New Horizon College of Engineering, while the other three victims are first year mechanical engineering students at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
They had come on a vacation to Bangalore to meet Avinash.  According to the police, at around 7 am, Avinash picked his friends from Madiwala Bus Stand in his Honda City car and they were heading to Avinash’s home at Kadabeesanahalli in Electronics City.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian tried to cross the road recklessly and came in front of their car.
In a bid to avoid the vehicle from hitting the pedestrian, Avinash rammed the vehicle into a tree.
Vighnesh, who was seated on the left in rear seat, sustained severe head injuries and succumbed while he was being shifted to a hospital.
A case has been registered in Madiwala traffic police station.
