Bangalore: A top police official allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Bangalore on Saturday.
Deputy Inspector General B S Abbai hanged himself at his home in the police quarters at Parappana in Bangalore.
The 53-year-old left a note saying no one is responsible for his death. He also expressed sorrow at leaving his family. It is not known yet why the officer took his life. But according to sources family feud is suspected to be the reason.
Abbai was a widely respected officer and was awarded the President's medal for meritorious service in 2000.
He is survived by wife and a 12-year-old son.
