Bangalore: An engineering student was hacked to death and his body put in a suitcase in his room in Bangalore. The victim identified as 22-year-old Piyush Sinha from Jharkhand was a a VII semester student of mechanical engineering at the Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Hunasamaranahalli.
One person has been detained by Bangalore Police in connection with the incident.
The gruesome murder was discovered on Thursday evening when a boy claiming to be Sinha's roommate called up the Chikkajala police. He told the police that Sinha had not been seen for over 24 hours and when he came to his (Sinha's) room he found blood stains.
A team of policemen searched the room and found the body stuffed in a suitcase.
