Bangalore: Friends stab to death TN techie after drunken brawl on New Year's eve

Bangalore: In a twist to the mysterious death of a Tamil Nadu software engineer in Bangalore, a top police official has said that the techie, who had come here for New Year celebrations, was stabbed to death by his friends. Karthik was stabbed by his friends following a drunken brawl in front of a hotel on New Year's evening, City Police Commissioner Jyotiprakash Mirji said.

The victim suffered injuries in the stomach, face and thigh and was rushed to St Johns Hospital after the security guard posted at the entrance of the hotel noticed him lying on the road badly injured, Mirji said. He succumbed to injuries in the morning, Mirji said.

Three of his friends, who also hail from Tamil Nadu, have been taken into custody for interrogation, Mirji said. A case has been registered.

Karthik was stabbed by his friends following a drunken brawl on New Year\'s evening, police said.
