Bangalore: The wife of a local priest in Bangalore has surrendered to police after she allegedly rammed her car into a footpath, killing one person and injuring three others.
The police said that the woman, who was absconding after the incident, was still learning how to drive and allegedly lost control of the vehicle. Eyewitnesses had identified her as the wife of a priest who serves in a local temple.
The victims of the hit-and-run were all construction workers. "We were just returning home when her car hit us. Our friend was lying dead on the spot, but she didn't even bother to get off and come to help. She was calling up somebody over the phone," said one of the injured victims.
