New Delhi: The statement of a six-year-old girl has nailed her father for the murder of her mother and the Delhi police has arrested the man from the Prashant Vihar area on Thursday morning.
Brijlata, a computer professional, was allegedly murdered by her husband Mohammad Nazran in Bangalore last Friday. Brijlata’s six-year-old daughter later reported the murder to the police.
The Delhi-based couple apparently got separated recently and Brijlata had shifted to Bangalore after the separation. The two got married eight years back after ending ties with their families.
The little girl told police that her father stabbed her mother about 15 times following an argument. Police say the case now rests entirely on her statement made to a lower court. The young girl has since been living with her grand uncle. She is likely to move on to live with her mother's parents in Canada.
The six-year-old girl gave a statement to the police, saying that she saw her mother being murdered by her father. Following this statement, police arrested Mohammad Nazran alias Ashish Malhotra from the Prashant Vihar area of Delhi on Thursday morning.
