Bangkok: Flood waters rise, airport inundated

CNN-IBN

Bangkok: Thailand is facing its worst-ever flood with emergency evacuation procedure being put in place in capital Bangkok.

Flood waters have forced the Don Mueang Airport to temporarily shut down.

About 90 per cent of the airport's runways have been inundated and all domestic flights have been halted.

Therefore, more than 4,000 flood victims who had moved to the evacuation centre at the airport have been relocated to other evacuation centres.

Meanwhile, the water level at The Connect Village in Don Mueang district has reached over 50 cm. The police have closed eight roads in Bangkok to traffic because of the floods.
