Bangkok treat: Rs 11-lakh dinner

Bangkok: When six chefs get together in Bangkok, the broth is yummy and rich. The dinner they prepared cost $25,000 (approximately Rs 11.25 lakh) per plate.

Mezzoluna Hotel, which serves the feast, believes the bill is justified. “Expensive is very much a relative word. When we look at only dinner it seems expensive, but when we look at the whole experience it is justified. The experience is that of six III-star Michelin chefs coming from three different countries and cooking the best of their dishes. Served with the best and rarest of wines in Thailand, then it is not an expensive dinner but an experience of a lifetime," says Deepak Ohri, Managing Director of Lebua Hotels, which owns the restaurant.

One wine served for the dinner was worth approximately Rs 19 lakh. From Swiss caviar to lobsters from France, if you want to eat a rich mean, then Bangkok is your destination.
