Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board has suspended former captain Mohammad Ashraful until the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit submits a report on investigations into suspected match-fixing and spot-fixing during this year's Bangladesh Premier League.

"As Ashraful has confessed his involvement in fixing to the ACSU team, so he should not be allowed to play any level of cricket until we get a full report of the investigation," Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan told reporters.

The International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ASCU) has been probing allegations of wrongdoings during the BPL, a Twenty20 competition.

Ashraful, who played for eventual champions Dhaka Gladiators, scored the inaugural tournament's sixth most runs - 358 in 14 matches - at an impressive average and strike-rate of 29.83 and 121.76 respectively.
