New Delhi: Basic Instinct is back, with all its trademark devil-may-care style and a pushing-50 Sharon Stone.
The first part of this almost-Hitchcockian phycho-sexual thriller had hit the movie theatres 14 years back.
And this time around, we find the risk -addicted Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), still strong and sturdy, ready to play mind-games with the law, system and men.
The racy-thriller novelist is pitted against Dr Andrew Glass (David Morrissey), a renowned shrink who is brought in by the police to see if Catherine is fit to stand trial.
She has been charged with the apparent murder of her fiancee Larry Houseman. What follows is the game of survival and chase, a la Basic Instinct.
A disappointed Stone has admitted in some interviews that a number of steamy scenes have been lost to the studio censors. It was reportedly her dream that the sequel outdo the original in terms of explicit scenes.
The sexy and sleek psychological thriller opens in the theatres on March 31. For a sneek peek of the movie, log on to the official website BasicInstinct2movie.com.
