BBMP to float tenders for mural art

BANGALORE: Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda issued a circular directing Joint Commissioners and Additional Commissioners to order a repaint of the fading walls in the city.
According to the circular issued on January 12, BBMP had undertaken painting works on walls two-and-half-years ago which has now faded. The Palike stated in order to avoid posters on walls, there is a need to repaint them. He directed the officials to undertake repainting work not exceeding Rs 10 lakh budget for the city’s outskirts and Rs 15 lakh for the central zones. This is as per Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act.
It can be recalled that no artist or agency had come forward to take the tenders.
