New Delhi: Hours after giving a bizarre defence on the controversy surrounding Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid, senior Congress leader Beni Prasad Verma has now said that even one rupee constitutes corruption. Earlier on Monday, the Congress leader from Uttar Pradesh had said that Rs 71 lakh was too small an amount for Khurshid to do a scam.
Defending the Law Minister over the issue, the Congress leader from Uttar Pradesh said, "Rs 71 lakh is a small amount for a Central Minister. A person like Salman Khurshid will not do any scam for Rs 71 lakh…had it been Rs 71 crore, I would take it seriously."
Beni Prasad Verma had also hit out at anti-corruption crusader-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal over his attack on Khurshid saying "he should not bark day and night".

Earlier, the Congress leader had said that Rs 71 lakh was too small an amount for Khurshid to do a scam.
Reacting to the statement of Verma, Kejriwal had said, "Now a leader from Congress is saying that if a minister makes money in lakhs, it is no big deal…now what to expect from this government."
