Beni meets Amar Singh; Cong pulls him up for his remarks on Mulayam

New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday reportedly reprimanded Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma for attacking Mulayam Singh Yadav and asks him not to make personal barbs against Samajwadi Party chief. Meanwhile, Beni Prasad met another Mulayam baiter Amar Singh earlier in the day.

Beni Prasad's recent barbs at Mulayam has earned him the party's censure. Sources indicated that the Congress has censured Beni. Sources added that the SP's demand for removing Beni Prasad was something that the party will take on its own and didn't need advice from its allies.

However, Amar Singh refused to comment on the Mulayam-Beni Prasad war of words. "I do not want to say anything about Beni Prasad Verma and Mulayam Singh Yadav. They used to be friends and know each other the best."

Meanwhile, Mulayam Singh took on the Congress and said that no one can fight the party. "Fighting against the government is not a small thing. They can do anything. They have thousand of hands. No one can fight the government. If one does, he will be chased by the CBI," said Mulayam.
