New Delhi: In the last one week Bachchans have been in news for the swanky cars that they have been gifted or have presented to each other.
Two days after actor Abhishek Bachchan received a Bentley worth Rs 1.7 crore on his birthday, his father Amitabh denied having gifted him the car.
Adding more confusion to the car issue, on Thursday, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh said that he had bought the Bentley for his use after paying all customs duties.
He threatened to take legal action against Delhi Transport Minister Harun Yusuf and the state Chief Minister for "misinformation" in this regard after a Transport Department official had raised doubts over Singh giving Amitabh’s residential address in Mumbai as his own for transit registration.
"I have imported the car from London by paying 100 per cent custom duty through a cheque signed by me", Singh clarified.
"Let Amitabh Bachchan deny this. I am ready to face consequences", he said and categorically denied that neither Amitabh has gifted the car to Abhishek on his birthday or he himself present it to the junior Bachchan.
