Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) buses, one of Mumbai’s twin lifelines could be off the road starting 2300 hrs IST on Wednesday.
BEST employees announced an indefinite strike after talks between unions and the management for higher pay fell through.
The management has accused the unions of going back on a pledge to not strike work till a final decision was made.
The union had agreed that a three-member committee would consider their demand for pay hike. But now the unions are accusing the management of delaying the hike.
BEST has a fleet of red single and double-decker buses. There are newly introduced air-conditioned buses as well.
