Mumbai: Team Jail was present on Saturday evening to launch the film's music. And of course the music release would be incomplete without any performances.
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh tried desperately to make some jail house rock. Film's leading lady Mugdha Godse was present at the event, but it was Bhandarkar's lucky mascot Priyanka Chopra who did the honours and who couldn't stop gushing about her favourite director.
"From the promos I think the film is looking very interesting, Madhur has his own way of story telling which is amazing, hard hitting and it's full of emotions," said Priyanka.
The music album of Jail boasts of a bhajan Data sun maula sun sung by the queen of melody, Lata Mangeshkar herself.
"Lata didi stood for two and a half hours while recording for this song, and at the age of 80, it's commendable that she came all the way to record the song, and she has sung it so beautifully," said Bhandarkar.
Meanwhile Neil, the grandson of yesteryears' singing sensation Mukesh, Neil too has lent his voice to one of the tracks.
"It's a romantic track, and the song is really peppy, and if you ask me Saiyya Ve is my favourite song in the film," said Neil.
Jail as the title suggests is a grim, inside view of life in a jail through the eyes of a common man who gets caught on the wrong side of the law. The film is all set to release on November 6.
