Bharti to arrive in India by Sunday

New Delhi: Bharti Yadav, a key witness in the Nitish Katara murder case and sister of main accused Vikas Yadav, is expected to return to India within the next 24 hours to depose in the case.
The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that it gave travel documents and emergency certificate to Bharti who collected the documents from the Indian High Commission in London.
Bharti is to depose in Patiala House Court from November 29.
Meanwhile, a Delhi court on Friday issued notice to the prosecution on an application moved by Bharti seeking a ban on the presence of the media and complainant Neelam Katara during her deposition.
In an application moved before the court of Additional Session Judge Ravinder Kaur through her counsel, Bharti has prayed for an in-camera hearing and barring of the media from publishing her testimony during the recording of her statement.
She also sought orders restraining the media from entering the court premises and publishing Bharti's photographs contending that she would be harassed and humiliated by the press, which would prejudice the case against the accused who are her brother and cousin.
The court will hear the application on November 20. It has been moved after the Delhi High Court had said earlier this month that it was for the trial court to decide whether in-camera hearing is required in the case.
Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav, Bharti's cousin, are accused of kidnapping and murdering Nitish with whom she allegedly had an affair.
While Vikas and another accused Sukhdev Pehlwan is in jail, Vishal was granted bail by the Delhi High Court which has been challenged by the prosecution in the Supreme Court.
Katara was allegedly kidnapped and murdered on the intervening night of February 16-17, 2002, in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he had gone to attend a marriage party.
