Bhopal: Four female students and a teacher of the RKDF college in Bhopal have been arrested after an 18-year-old pharmacy student of the same college killed herself, leaving behind a suicide note naming the five accused alleging that they ragged her for over six months.
Eighteen-year-old Anita, a second year Pharmacy student of the RKDF college in Bhopal, committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her residence on Tuesday evening. The police on Wednesday evening recovered a suicide note from her house in which she had charged four girl students of the same college of ragging her throughout the year forcing her to commit suicide. She also wrote about the complaint that she had made to a teacher and the subsequent threats that she received in college.
"She told me they were ragging her, they were trying to force her into certain bad things. I told her to complain but before we could tell our father she committed suicide. She was my best friend," said the victim's brother Hemant. "I want justice for my daughter, she had never told me anything but the children are now telling me and they have recovered a suicide note," said her father Kamlesh Sharma.
The police on Thursday registered an abetment case against the five accused and arrested Dipti, Nidhi, Devyanshi, Kirti and their teacher Manish. "On the basis of the suicide note we have registered a case, five arrests have been made and further investigations are on, said Bhopal SP Anshuman Singh.
Anita in her suicide note, while addressing her father, mentioned that the seniors had threatened to throw acid on her if she refused to take back her complaint. Police have not ruled out the possibility of some bigger racket.
