Paris: Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles began their French Open campaign in the men's doubles event with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win over local pair of Josselin Ouanna and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Paris on Friday.
The fourth seeded Indo-Bahamian pair were so dominant that they did not face even a single break-point in the entire match against their unseeded French rivals and sealed the victory in just 58 minutes.
Bhupathi and his partner squandered four breakpoints in the first set but converted both the chances they got in the second set to cruise to the next round.
In the second round they will lock horns with Sweden's Johan Brunstrom and Jean-Julien Rojer of Netherland Antilles.
