Mumbai: It’s the smoke that brings all the fire. And any talk about it is sure to get your hackles up.
"Smoking is injurious to health. Smoking scenes should be banned on TV,” says a resident of Mumbai.
Its only natural then that a number which shows Bollywood actress Riya Sen gyrating away should have raised more than a few eyebrows.
And what we are seeing now is that the song has been put off air on some channels.
Meanwhile, the man responsible for the song, music producer Biddu has taken this episode with a pinch of salt.
" The government has banned everything smoking, drinking, rave parties. The only thing allowed is corruption. They thought after watching sutta, the youngsters would go out and buy a pack of Char Minar. So they told us not to show it,” Biddu says.
Better still, he has moved on to Fire. That’s his latest song from the album Shutup and Dance.
"They had a problem with Water. I don’t think they would have a problem with Fire,” he says.
Known as a spin-doctor for musicians, Biddu has shaped the careers of popular names like Alisha Chinai, Shaan and Shweta Shetty and is known to resurface in the Indian music scene once in a while.
"I like to keep a low profile. I am not Arun Nayar,” he says.
