Pune: Anuj Bidve's friends and family paid their final tribute and cremated him in Pune on Saturday. But their fight for justice, they say, will continue for their son, an innocent 23-year-old, who was shot dead in UK on Boxing Day.
Anuj's friends and family paid their last tribute to him on Saturday after his body was brought back to India from the UK where he was shot dead in Manchester on December 26 2011.
Anuj's parents had flown to the UK to bring back his body. Anuj's parents visited the spot where he was shot dead, in Salford, on Friday. His father has appealed to the police for justice.
"We have faith in the British judiciary," said Anuj's father Subhash Bidve.
One local, a 20-year old man, who calls himself Psycho Stapleton, has been charged with Anuj's murder, in what the UK police have called a motiveless crime. The UK police have arrested and charged Kiaran Stapleton for Anuj's murder.
Bidve was a student at Lancaster University. His family said they have been deeply moved by the support they have got.
Even as Anuj's father said in the UK that the world is finished for them, his family has their eyes set on getting justice for their son.
