Washington: Big B's next big movie Baabul is ready for release and for some reason, Amitabh Bachchan sounds very excited about it.
Is it the innovative theme of the movie itself or is it because he has also given his voice to a few tracks on it? CNN-IBN caught up with Amitabh Bachchan to hear it from the man himself. Here are the excerpts of the interview:-
Akanksha: It's just days before the release of the much-awaited Baabul, and today we are in conversation with Baabul or Mr Bachchan himself. It seems like a very traditional setup otherwise, but your character is the one which is then questioning tradition.
Amitabh Bachchan: He feels very strongly that this young lady that has come into his house as a daughter in-law is not just a daughter in-law. He treats her like his own daughter. He observes and he witnesses the misery that his own bahu, or if you like to call her his own daughter, is going through. And his efforts, therefore, is at wanting to re-establish her life, given an opportunity to start a life all over again.
Akanksha: Do you think lending your voice to a couple of tracks has made a difference?
Amitabh Bachchan: I am happy that there is some kind of a cohesive energy between Ravi Chopra, Aadesh Shrivastava and myself and I think we have come across with a rather nice sound-track.
Akanksha: Mr Bachchan, what about your future projects?
Amitabh Bachchan: One is Nishabd, which is by Ram Gopal Verma. It's a bold topic of a 60-year-old man and an 18-year-old girl and the attraction that happens between them. And then there is Ram Gopal Verma's own interpretation of Sholay, where I am playing Gabbar, the villan.
Akanksha: Well, a lot of people are also going to miss you on the small screen, the KBC experience.
Amitabh Bachchan: I think we had one full time. The KBC was great fun. It was something new for me. Something new for Indian audiences. Now I wish Star and Shah Rukh Khan all the very best in this venture of theirs.
