Amitabh Bachchan's production company AB Corp Ltd has become a 30 per cent partner of the Jaya Bachchan-starrer Phir Tum Mil Gaye, being directed by Revathy S Verma and produced by Preya Arora.

Formed in 2001 from Bachchan's earlier production company ABCL, AB Corp's last release was Family: Ties of Blood (2006) directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Big B and Akshay Kumar.

Jaya's author-backed role and the strong emotional content of in Phir Tum… is what prompted AB Corp to get involved, reveals our source.

It's a remake of the Tamil film June R (2005), directed by Revathy S Verma herself.

It tells the tale of an old woman (played by Jaya Bachchan) adopted by a motherless young girl (played by Ayesha Takia). The film, to go on the floors on April 10 in Mumbai, also stars R Madhavan and Suniel Shetty, and marks the comeback of Raveena Tandon, who plays a no-nonsense lawyer.

Apart from Phir Tum…, AB Corp is also making Kunal Avadana starring Big B himself alongside Tabu, Arjun Rampal and Amrita Rao. It is being directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

Incidentally, Katrina Kaif's make-up man was very much interested in producing this film, with hopes of casting Katrina in Ayesha Takia's role.
