Banka: Cracking the UPSC is a difficult proposition, especially for aspirants who live in Naxal-infested areas, with no access to proper coaching facilities. But all that has changed in Bihar's Banka district due to the efforts of District Magistrate Dipak Anand and his deputy Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra. Together, they conduct free coaching sessions for students taking the UPSC exam from this region.

With no proper guidance, the youth in Banka found it increasingly difficult to prepare for the examination. But now, there is hope - because of Deepak's and Mithilesh's initiative. And they are not alone - Taking cue, other officers from the region are also taking time out to tutor UPSC aspirants.

Hailing from one of the most deprived regions of Bihar, Dipak himself had no access to proper guidance or coaching facilities while preparing from the UPSC exam. And since then, he decided that he would not let other aspirants face the same problem.

The smiles on the faces of the young aspirants are becoming broader by the day as many of them show remarkable improvement. Three of them have already cracked the prelim examinations. The day is not far away when Dipak and Mithilesh would have their own fleet of bureaucrats, all nurtured and mentored by them.
