Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is under fire for allotting prime real estate in Bihar to relatives of government officials and ministers. IBN7 first exposed the scam unfolding in the Bihar Industrial Development Authority (BIDA).
According to the IBN7 report, Urvashi Sahi, daughter of Bihar's Education Minister PK Sahi has been allotted 87,120 sq ft of land belonging to Bihar Industrial Development Authority.
Rehmat Fatima, daughter of high profile IAS officer and Chief Secretary of the Irrigation Department Afzal Amanullah has also been allotted 87,120 sq ft of land belonging to the state industrial development authority.
Rahul Kumar, son of JD(U) MP Jagdish Sharma has been allotted land for setting up a priavte factory near Hajipur.
Son of BJP MLC Ashok Agarwal has been given land in Forbesganj, the place where four farmers had died as their land was being acquired.
MLAs and MLCs of the BJP also benefited from the allotment of land by the Nitish Kumar government.
Congress and RJD have accused Nitish Kumar of involvement in this land scam.
"The people who have got the land are IAS officers, children of ministers etc. So, if Nitish is to stay true to his name of 'Mr clean', he should investigate how these people have got the land," said RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui.
Meanwhile, there was uproar in Bihar Assembly over the issue, as the Opposition stalled the Assembly proceeding over alleged land scam and demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's resignation and a CBI inquiry into the scam.
Under pressure, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that Bihar Chief Secretary will conduct an inquiry on the issue.
