Bihar CM's wife dies of pneumonia

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s wife, Manju Sinha, died of severe pneumonia in a Delhi hospital on Monday.

Sinha, 55, was admitted in Max Hospital and was ailing for the past two weeks.

The Chief Minister's wife was first taken to Sri Ram Nursing Home in Kankarbagh in Patna.

However, when her condition worsened, the doctors advised her to be treated by lungs specialists in Delhi.

Sinha, accompanied by the Chief Minister and a host of physicians, was then flown to Delhi in an Air Ambulance aircraft on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister was by his wife’s side when her end came.

Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, expressed deep sorrow at the untimely demise of Manju Sinha.

In a condolence message Badal described her as a pious and God-fearing lady who contributed her might for the welfare of downtrodden and oppressed in the society.
