Cops of Aurangabad district in Bihar have declared the 5-year-old kid as a Gunda, a guy who is threatening peace in this area and disrupting the processes of Panchayat polls. Section 107 of IPC has been imposed on him in wake of ongoing Panchayat elections in the state and the boy is out on a temporary bail from a local court.
"A case has been filed against me that is why I am here," said Suryakant.
"The 5-year-old boy is being asked to pay bond of Rs 20,000, which is unjust," said advocate Sidheswar Vidyarthi.
Suryakant's family members, his friends at schools are all shell shocked at this callous approach of the Police. They first thought it might be a clerical error. But when they approached the local police station, cops confirmed that it was done deliberately. Since then, they are running pillar to post for justice.
"It's a case of child right violation. How can a 5-year-old boy be booked in a court case?" said Anil Kumar Singh, a villager.
Even the senior officials are quite casual about this serious blunder.
"Sec 107 has been imposed on the relatives of the candidate contesting polls. We will inquire this case against a kid," said Aurangabad SP Vivek Raj Singh.
At the age, when he should have been only worrying about playing football and completing his home work, Suryakant is shuttling between police station and courts.
