Patna: A former MLA of the Janata Dal (United) on Friday snatched the carbine of a policeman on duty and started firing in air when a few protesters tried to attack the cavalcade of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Khagaria, Bihar, during his Adhikar Yatra.
Ranveer Yadav, husband of present JDU MLA Poonam Yadav, was seen brandishing a gun and chasing people away.
Reports say that he even snatched a police stick and thrashed protesters.
The Bihar CM was reportedly on his way to a stadium for a meeting.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister's motorcade came under attack in Khagaria. They also attacked the district magistrate of Khagaria and torched three vehicles.
However, this time, the motorcade was attacked by protesters who were upset over lack of adequate number of teachers in local schools.
