New Delhi: If you cringe in disgust at the thought of a little bit of bird poop falling on you accidentally, then wait till you hear this – in New York, an unusual kind of facial is fast gaining popularity, and the mystery ingredient in it is bird droppings.

“This is a first for me. I have had micro dermabrasions, brightening, but this is the first time I have tried poop facial,” a customer Mindy Lubell said.

The much sought after beauty treatment called the Geisha facial is a paste made from nightingale droppings mixed with water, which is UV sterilised before being brushed onto the skin.

The spa owner insists that nightingale droppings are rich in natural enzymes that help in breaking down dead skin cells and exfoliating the skin.

The facial is said to have been used by Geishas in Japanese society to remove makeup and heal their skin.
