New Delhi: British-American director, screenwriter and producer Christopher Nolan turns 42 years old today, July 30. While we can't match up to the birthday gift fate has presented him with: The Dark Knight Rises retains its #1 spot earning $289.1 million in the first 10 days, according to edition.cnn.com, we sure picked out the best scenes from all his features up till now.

But looks like Nolan is more of a 'man of steel', and did not budge from his decision. He has bid a final farewell to the Batman fraanchise, even writing a good-bye letter!
