New Delhi: The row over the Amarnath land controversy continues and the Sangharsh Samiti has now entered its sixth day.
Sporadic incidents of violence were reported from different areas of Jammu, including Muthi, Nagrota and old city.
Protestors blocked the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for over four hours. However, the curfew has been lifted completely.
Blaming the Congress for causing communal polarisation in the state on the issue of Amarnath land transfer, the state BJP on Tuesday said that former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has abetted mobilisation of the masses in Kashmir against Amarnath yatra.
"The opposition to the land transfer was built up by a section of the Congress in tandem with leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani of Hurriyat Conference and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of PDP," state BJP vice-president Hari Om said.
Azad's assertion that the crisis, that was precipitated by both Hindu and Muslim hardliners, is an ugly attempt to hide the involvement of the Congress party in the matter, Om said.
He also criticised appointments of Governor NN Vohra, Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah and Jammu and Kashmir Bank CEO Haseeb Drabu by the coalition that, he said, explained the Congress game plan in clear terms.
