BJP call to withdraw move to allow FDI

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP  leader and former Union Minister O Rajagopal has called upon the Congress leadership to withdraw from allowing FDI in retail sector as it would force lakhs of small-scale traders to end life.

Inaugurating a dharna staged in front of the GPO here under the aegis of the BJP district committee, he said that the farmers were committing suicide in the state. Price rise has made the life of poor people miserable. In such a  situation, allowing FDI in the retail sector would further aggravate the woes of the people, he said.

BJP district president Karamana Jayan presided over the function.  District general secretary S Suresh, Venganoor Satheesh, natioanl executive member P P Vava, state council members P Ashok Kumar, Chithralayam Radhakrishnan, Yuva Morcha state vice-president R S Rajeev  and Chemapzhanthi Udayan spoke on the occasion.
