New Delhi: BJP’s war on terror will have a face now. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is going to be the party's anti-terror mascot.

Modi is the man who has embarrassed the UPA Government by solving the Ahmedabad blast puzzle and then sending a warning on the Delhi terror attack.

So a unique campaign is being engineered by Modi in his home state which is building pressure on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to give a green signal to the Gujarat anti-terror law.

“It’s a unique campaign wherein SMS and postcards are being sent to the Centre,” President of BJP’s youth wing, Amit Thakkar said.

And it seems this is not case only in Gujarat. After declaring at the recently held national executive of the party that terror will be a key electoral issue, the BJP has organised a major rally in Delhi on September19 for which a special invitation has been extended to Modi.

Insiders say that Modi will be featured prominently in most rallies in the run up to both state and parliament elections.

“He (Modi) has not just been a mascot for development but also in countering terror,” BJP Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

The rally will be a short distance away from one of the blast sites and will be hammering home the point that the UPA Government has not been able to make any major terror breakthrough.

Modi has been saying that there should be no politics on terror but that is the only thing he seems to be doing.
