New Delhi: The BJP parliamentary board is likely to meet on Friday to make the announcement of Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Election campaign chief Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The announcement is likely to be made after the BJP's parliamentary board meeting.
Meanwhile, according to sources, former Bharatiya Janata Party President Nitin Gadkari met senior BJP leader LK Advani on Tuesday evening to discuss the nomination of Modi as the PM candidate. The meeting reportedly went on for 45 minutes. Sources say that the BJP is trying to bring Advani on-board over the decision on Modi.
Sources had earlier said that during the two-day meeting between Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party that ended on Monday, a decision had been made to appoint Modi as its prime ministerial candidate.
