New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minster Narendra Modi is likely to be announced as the BJP prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. According to the sources, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have decided to appoint Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate. The sources also said that seniors BJP leaders including LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj are not against the idea of Modi as PM.
"BJP president Rajnath Singh will call a meeting of the party's parliamentary board in the next few days. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has held another round of meeting with Advani," said sources.
The RSS-BJP held two-day meeting in New Delhi, which ended on Monday. However, RSS leader Manmohan Vaidya said that there was no discussion over the party's prime ministerial candidate during the meeting.
