CNN-IBN

New Delhi: BJP President Nitin Gadkari on Sunday announced that his party will organise Satyagraha for 24 hours at all levels in the country on Sunday from 7 pm onwards.

"At 5 pm top leaders of the BJP will meet in Delhi, from 7 pm onwards the BJP will launch 24 hours of Satyagraha across the country," Gadkari said.

Criticising the UPA government for the midnight police action at the Ramlila Maidan to stop Baba Ramdev's fast, Gadkari said that the memories of emergency were brought alive by the actions of the UPA Government.

"The Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi used force on democratic ways of protest against corruption and blackmoney. I condemn the action of PM Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi," Gadkari said. He also said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi should apologise for the act.

"Corruption and black money is a nationwide issue. The BJP raised this issue for the first time in the country. The Government which can't take action on corruption and black money and take action against peaceful protestors doesn't have any moral right to stay in power," Gadkari added.

He also said that the BJP has asked for permission to carry out the 24-hour Satyagraha, but even if they don't get permission, they will go ahead. "We will go ahead with our Satyagraha, let the government do whatever it can," Gadkari said.
