Kannur (Kerala): A fast track court in Thalassery of Kannur district has sentenced one BJP worker for 10 years and 12 others to five years of imprisonment in a case of attempt to murder.
Asna then a six-year-old girl, living near Cheruvancheri near Kannur lost her leg when a bomb was thrown at her.
The incident happened on September 2nd 2000 when RSS and CPM workers clashed during a gram panchayat election.
Asna's leg which was badly injured had to be amputated. Her 2- year-old brother Anand and mother also suffered minor injuries in the explosion. Fourteen BJP-RSS workers were arrested in connection to the blast case.
On Friday the court had pronounced all the accused in the Asna case guilty.
