Bangalore: Many states will go for polls over the nest few months and political parties have begun preparing for the upcoming assembly elections.
BJP national executive that begins in Bangalore from Friday is all set to be a tricky affair, and on top of its agenda is to keep old relationships with allies like the JDU and the Shiv Sena.
Allies have been arm-twisting the BJP ever since the Presidential elections, and there are new friends to be found.
With elections coming up, the party hopes it might be able to rope in parties like the AIADMK where Modi and Ravi Shankar Prasad are in constant touch with Jayalalitha and Indian National Lok Dal of Chautala.
"We will be discussing on upcoming assembly and general elections, and various issues that are affecting the nation," says BJP vice president, Mukthar Abbas Naqvi.
There are other crucial issues on which strategising is required, like the BJP has to fight anti-incumbency in the three states of MP, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh.
The party will also try to evolve consensus on the nuclear deal, especially after the NSG waiver because not too many are ready to buy the BJP logic that national sovereignty has been compromised.
Advani's Vijay Sankalp Yatra itinerary would also be finalized. The political yatra is aimed at highlighting the failures of the UPA government apart from touching upon the usual issues such as price rise, terrorism and internal security.
